The Paycom Center is home to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Located downtown, the venue can hold up to 18,203 basketball fans. It was built in 2002, and formerly named the Ford Center, the Oklahoma City Arena, and the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The construction cost totaled 89.2 million dollars. The venue was improved in 2007, in the lead-up to the Thunder coming to Oklahoma City. Originally, the venue held upwards of 19,000 fans. As improvements took hold, the venue eliminated nearly 1000 seats to make room for luxury suites.
The 2007 Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament came to the Paycom Center. In 2009, the venue hosted the Big 12 Conference basketball tournament.
