Northwest Stadium first opened in 1997 under the name "Jack Kent Cooke Stadium." That name changed two years later, to the current Northwest Stadium. In 2004, the stadium had the largest capacity in the NFL. Six years later, venue renovations reduced the capacity to 62,000. The stadium is home to the Washington Commanders.
When the stadium was being built, an additional freeway exit was constructed to support the traffic. This is a five-level stadium, with names such as Bobby Michell level, Joe Gibbs level, and Pete Rozelle level. As for suites at Northwest Stadium, there are 243 spread out across the venue. There are 15,044 club seats, in this open-air stadium. Improvements were needed after a water leak occurred and many people were injured after a barrier gave way.
In 2025, Metallica and Post Malone will perform at the stadium.
