Highmark Stadium History 

Highmark Stadium has been home to the Buffalo Bills since it opened in 1973. Located in Orchard Park, New York the initial cost to build it was a modest 22 million dollars. In 2013, the venue was upgraded at a cost of 134 million. 71,870 fans can fit inside this iconic venue, which had increased throughout the Mid-1990s. To remain competitive, Highmark Stadium added a large number of executive suites and club seating. Ironically, the seating capacity has gone down by nearly 10,000 since its peak in 1994. This change was made to fit those suites into the original stadium footprint. 

Highmark Stadium is not normally a "multi-purpose" venue, but there have been special events held from time to time. Syracuse University used the stadium for just a few games. Local high school football tournaments have been held there, and the occasional concert has taken place at Highmark Stadium. This year, there will be two concerts at Highmark. Def Leppard with Motley Crue will hit the stage on August 10, and Metallica will follow that up with a show on August 11. 

Highmark Stadium by the Numbers

There are three levels at Highmark Stadium.

• The ground-level sections are numbered 101 through 143.
• Section 101 is directly behind one of the goalposts, in the end zone. Section 122 is on the opposite side of the field, and the player's tunnel can be found there.
• In the 200 level, you will also find great seating options.
• Sideline sections in the 200 level are numbered 207 through 217 on one side, and 227 through 238 on the other.
• The uppermost level at Highmark is the 300 level.
• Those sections are just along the sidelines, and they are numbered 306 through 317 and 328 through 339.
