RingCentral was formerly called Oakland Coliseum. It's the home venue for the Oakland Athletics baseball team. First built in 1966, it's one of the oldest venues still in operation. There have been many updates and upgrades to the venue since it first opened. In 1995, the coliseum underwent a 200 million-dollar upgrade. For years, the Oakland Raiders played their home football games at RingCentral from 1995 through 2019.
Capacity for Athletics games can vary from 46,847 to 56,782, depending on how many upper-deck seats are available for specific games. For concerts, up to 64,829 seats are available. The coliseum is known for its expansive foul ball territory. The venue is certainly in need of updating but that might require public funding that has yet to materialize.
The first concert at RingCentral was the Bill Graham, Day on the Green series that ran for nearly twenty years. Marvin Gaye performed there in 1974. In 2018 & 2019, the Rolling Loud festival came to RingCentral Coliseum.
