T-Mobile Park is the home field for the Seattle Mariners. First built in 1999, and initially named Safeco Field, the stadium capacity has only grown by just over 800 seats in the first 20 years. The ballpark design followed many of the other parks built during that time. The feel is that of a 1950's baseball park, but with modern amenities.
There are five levels to the stadium, with the largest being the main concourse. The upper concourse is made up of 15,955 seats, and it's the second largest level in the stadium. The bleachers make up just 3706 seats of the entire stadium. The suite level can accommodate up to 1945 fans on game day. The retractable roof is essential for a team that's based in rainy Seattle.
The venue was home to five soccer games. The women's CONCACAF Gold Cup first and semifinal rounds were played at T-Mobile Park in 2002. The first live music event for the public was held on July 19, 2013. Paul McCartney brought his Out There Tour to Seattle. 45,229 fans filled the seats on that night. Notable shows since then include The Who, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Billy Joel, and Zac Brown Band.
