Wrigley Field has been the home to the Chicago Cubs since 1916. The tradition continues in 2023, with Chicago baseball fans flocking to the ballpark in record numbers just about every season. The Chicago neighborhood around the stadium is alive with excitement on game day. Be sure to arrive early, and take a walk around Wrigleyville. The stadium is situated between Addison Street to the south, Sheffield Avenue to the east, Waveland to the north, and Clark Street to the west. Parking options near the stadium are very limited, so public transportation is your best bet on game day.
While more modern stadiums bring additional revenue from luxury suites, Wrigley Field fans have resisted major changes nor a complete redo of the ballpark. The first renovation to Wrigley Field occurred in 1927 when an upper deck was added. The current seating capacity is 41,649. Now owned by Thomas Ricketts, plans to build around the stadium and the neighborhood has been in the works since 2014. They will keep the ivy-covered outfield walls, but much of the interior and exterior of Wrigley Field has been renovated.
On June 9 & 10, Dead and Company will perform at Wrigley Field. This two-day event will be one of three non-baseball events to come to the venue. Pink will perform at Wrigley Field on August 12. Morgan Wallen is booked for two nights at Wrigley Field. He'll perform on June 22 & 23.
