Looking for Crtpto.com Arena tickets? We have you covered. Formerly known as the Staples Center, this iconic venue is home to the Los Angeles Clippers, L.A. Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, and L.A. Sparks. For great concerts, look no further. There is always something happening at the Crypto.com Arena.
When the venue opened in 1999, fans knew that the Crypto.com Arena would be used for NBA Basketball, NHL Hockey, concerts, and more. The seating capacity for basketball is currently 19,079. For hockey, the Crypto.com Arean seats 18,230. For concerts, anywhere between 10,000 and 13,000 will fit nicely. For boxing, the arena can seat 21,000.
The proposal to build next to the L.A. Convention Center was adopted in 1996, and construction started in 1997. The venue was financed privately, for 375 million. The first event to take place was a Bruce Springsteen concert. Eleven years after opening, the venue was updated. New locker rooms were constructed, and a high-tech video scoreboard was added. The name change from the Staples Center to Crypto.com was a 700 million-dollar deal that will run for the next 20 years if cryptocurrency markets last that long.
Fans should check out the statues of famous players outside the stadium. Starting with Wayne Gretzky in 2002, the venue added Magic Johnson, Oscar De La Hoya, Chick Hearn (broadcaster) Jerry West, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Luc Robitaille, Shaquille O'Neal, Bob Miller, and Elgin Baylor.
